From Barfield's powerful Meditations of Sound and Light to Frank Bridge's epic Sonata for Cello and Piano, this CD is filled with soaring melodies, rich harmonic content and dizzying technical passages. The disc also features Plog's gripping musical depictions of four Francisco Goya paintings, as well as Jan Bach's breathtaking approach to the theme and variation form with his 1977 Concert Variations.

Themes and Meditations also features Mark's continued collaboration with outstanding pianist Martha Fischer.
